Nearly all the stories in this book were written in the 1800’s and early 1900’s so some of the language may seem a little old. I have modernized some of the spelling but I left most of the stories intact because the Victorian people had such a beautiful way of using words. It is always good to stretch our own vocabulary. Many of these stories have not been reprinted since their first publication and I’m so excited to share these with a whole new generation. Most of the stories could be used to help teach children important lessons. At the end of each story you could think of a few questions to ask your children, or maybe even have the children ask you questions!

I’ve tried to include activities that will appeal to a variety of different age groups. Obviously not every activity will be fun for each child. On several days I give two or more options; you can pick the one that will be enjoyed the most. For younger children there are several coloring pages in the bonus book. These might be good for the children to do while you are reading the story.
